iLok is a USB Hardware that holds authorization keys for many software developers. Currently, there are 70+ software developers using iLok for software authorization. An iLok USB Hardware Key looks like this:

iLok is portable, safe and convenient.

• It's Portable: iLok enables you to easily move authorizations from one computer to another. Use your software at home, at the office, at a studio, or at a friend's house. iLok makes it portable, just carry it in your pocket and go.
• It's Safe: Authorizations are stored in the secure iLok USB Hardware Key - not on the computer or hard drive. iLok is immune to problems caused by machine upgrades, disk maintenance, hardware failures, and software updates.
• It's Convenient: Store all of your Mac or Windows iLok-enabled software authorizations on a single iLok USB Hardware Key, regardless of developer. You can store up to 100 software authorizations on one iLok.

All Waves plugins and bundles from v5 or later require iLok for authorization.

When you purchase a Waves software from this site, iLok is not included, but can be purchased with one of the following methods :

• Purchase an iLok at many places near you, from a Digidesign dealer, or,
• Directly from iLok web site

You may ask why is iLok not included with the purchase of Waves software if it is required? Well, there are many people who already owned an iLok - if you have a Digidesign ProTools|HD system, a Serato software, or AutoTune software, for example, chances are you will already have an iLok. Hence, iLok is never sold with any Waves software product.
